CBS Morning News
CBS News aired a very nice story last week on the dust-up between Back Alley Waffles and Groupon. Friends who saw it said that it was mostly a re-packaging of Groupon's talking points. Since I have addressed Groupon's talking points elsewhere, I won't rehash those.
There is one thing they left out, however, that, to my mind, is significant.
ON BLAME
In response to yet another diatribe claiming my lashing out at Groupon is just a way of avoiding blame, I wrote:
You know, I don't get guys like you, and I'm not thinking about your impoliteness.
IS THERE AN MBA IN THE HOUSE?
I started serving waffles in my art gallery as a way to bring attention to my art and, hopefully, save my struggling gallery. The original idea was to give waffles away free every Friday night as a kind of delicious gimmick to get people there.
That grew into Back Alley Waffles.
So, almost by accident, I found myself trying to open a restaurant with no money. YOU try that some time.
